Fastest Mustang Ladies Take to the Track

Finalists line up in the staging lanes for the Second Annual All-Female Shootout.

Nineteen ladies who love their Mustangs and racing, participated in the second annual Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords All-Female Shootout presented by Royal Purple this weekend. Qualifying for the event was run as part of the Tremec TruStreet at the NMRA Super Nationals held at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH.

Tremec TruStreet participants return from the 30-mile cruise.

The TruStreet is a 30 mile cruise with no tech allowed after the cars return to the track. The cars immediately go into the staging lanes to take three consecutive runs down the drag strip. This year TruStreet had 140 participants including the ladies in the All-Female Shootout.

After the racing portion concluded, racers gathered under the tent on the Summit side of the track to see their results, learn who had the fastest times, and who would be crowned TruStreet Champion. The regular TruStreet division was won by Chris Escobar who is a multiple-time champion in the event. Last year’s All-Female Shootout winner Donna Million won the ladies bracket. TrusStreet was concluded with an after party where the drivers had the opportunity to win great prizes supplied by NMRA manufacturer sponsors.

The final shootout round kicked off on Sunday afternoon under beautiful blue skies, sunshine and temps in the low 80s. In a shocking first round, Million was retired from the competition when she red lighted the tree at the line. After an exciting quarter and semi-final rounds, the finals were set with Brandy Cisco and Nikki Frost who were both making their racing debuts in the NMRA for the event.

Cisco drove a beautiful candy apple read 2014 Mustang GT and proved time and again that she was meant to race with runs in the tens each round. Frost brought her Tiffany blue wrapped 2013 Mustang GT from Pennsylvania, and if she was nervous, it didn’t show as she was able to settle in and improve her time each pass resulting in a win.

In the finals Cisco won with a 10.75 second pass at 129 mph over Frost’s 11.79 at 125 mph pass winning $1500 in purse and contingency. Frost didn’t leave empty handed. She collected $750 in winnings.
