Townsend Bell

Townsend Bell was the Indy Lights Rookie of the Year and Oval Champion in 2000. The following year he captured the Indy Lights title. He also made his Champ Car debut in 2001. In 2002, Bell made nine starts for Patrick Racing with a best finish of fourth in Portland. Heading overseas in 2003, he competed in the FIA Formula 3000 Championship placing ninth in the standings with a best showing of third at Hungary. He also tested for BAR-Honda and the Jaguar Formula One teams in 2003. Bell made his IndyCar debut in 2004. He has made eight Indy 500 starts with a best finish of fourth in 2009. He drove full-time in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship for AIM Autosport with Ferrari, He won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2012 and the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2014 (GTD class) .

For 2015, Bell will be driving the #63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in the Grand Daytona class. He and driving teammate Bill Sweedler will also compete in the 83rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, June 13-14.

During the 2014 season, Bill Sweedler was the co-driver with Townsend Bell for AIM Autosport driving the No. 555 Ferrari 458 Italia GT Grand-Am in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. Winners of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, second place at the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Sahlen’s Six Hours at the Glen, Sweedler and Bell headed into the series season finale at the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta for a run at the GT-Daytona class championship where they won the Patron Endurance Championship, but just missed the GTD Class Championship.

In 2015 Sweedler and Bell are driving for a new team Scuderia Corsa behind the wheel of the #63 Ferrari 458 Italia in the TUDOR United Sportscar Chamionship series. They will also compete in the 83rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14.
