The Trend: The global push to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve fuel economy has led to modern /new cars to have smaller,
turbocharged, gasoline direct injected (GDI) engines. These engines are designed for increased power density – making them increasingly
susceptible to LSPI events and Turbocharger deposits. ~ 75% of new cars manufactured contain these engines.
Problem: Low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) is an abnormal combustion event, which has been observed at low engine speeds in the new generation
